Success Stories

Explore the real-life impacts of our Healthcare 2 Unreached (H2U) program through these inspiring stories.

A 29-year-old resident of Haorang Keirel village in Imphal West district of Manipur, Mrs. Shanti Devi faced severe morning sickness during her first trimester. With no nearby health facility and a fear of contracting COVID-19, she resorted to self-medication. Our project, introduced to her by the village ASHA, provided proper medical treatment and nutritional supplements through our Mother and Child Health Programme, significantly improving her health.

In her words: “I am very much thankful to Rural Health Organisation and Share and Care Foundation for introducing such a program in this backward area which is very beneficial for me and other women like me who have no awareness of health and sanitation.”

A 58-year-old from the remote hilly village of Kharam Thadoi in Kangpokpi district, Mrs. Mercy Kom suffered from diabetes and hypertension but lacked access to medical services. Since December 2019, our Mobile Medical Clinic has provided her with free medication, dietary guidance, and stress management support, helping to control her blood glucose and blood pressure levels. Her daughter-in-law also benefited from regular antenatal check-ups and delivered a healthy baby with our support.

In her words: “This health program is a boon to my family. We have received all necessary health care services through this program. I and my family thank Rural Health Organisation and Share and Care Foundation for such a health program in such a remote hilly village.”

Looking to the Future

For 2024-2025, we aim to expand our mobile health clinics to three more states, offer another 30,000 people anemia treatment plans, increase our capacity for cervical cancer detection and treatment, vaccinate an additional 3,000 women against HPV, and increase the number of mental health awareness webinar options.

Our H2U program is bridging the gap in medical access for underserved communities, ensuring healthier futures for many.
