Gala 2018 - About the Gala

About the Gala

Now in its 36th year, our Annual Gala & Fundraiser serves to honor our beneficiaries as well as our generous donors who help us provide critical resources and opportunities for those in need.

The people we serve in remote, rural areas of India are among the most marginalized members of society. They live in poverty and often face extreme discrimination. Most lack access to basic necessities. Through our holistic, community-based Signature Programs, we provide them with critical resources for survival as well as opportunities for education, gender equality training, abuse prevention, and more.

This year's gala will focus on the phrase: Educate a Child. Enable a Woman. Empower a Nation. The event will celebrate the power of a single person to enact great change. When children have access and encouragement to complete their education, they grow up to become innovators, community leaders, and mentors for their peers. When women are enabled to reach their full potential, they provide for their families and advocate for gender equality and human rights in their societies. When we offer a brighter future to just one individual, we light a spark that can empower an entire nation. We hope you will join us for an evening of song and celebration on Saturday, October 20, 2018.
